Walking

Take a walk along the Ancholme. The Ancholme Valley is a popular haunt for walkers, ramblers and nature seekers alike. The way-marked footpaths take you along the river banks of the Ancholme from the Humber at South Ferriby to Brigg.

Alternatively the lush unspoilt woodland walks at Broughton Woods offer another place to explore on foot.

Although there is no consistent towpath that follows the course of the River Ancholme the river does have a network of footpaths that follow close by. For more information the Ramblers Association is a good website for a general overview: www.ramblers.org.uk

Why not use the map below to plan your walking experiences along the Ancholme? Simply drag and zoom the map or just pop in the name of the place you want to visit or the postcode.
