Ladies day in Lincoln
Friends Gemma and Emily spend the day in Lincoln searching out bargains in the shops and enjoying lunch in a little cafe.
Where and when did you go on your trip?
We went while I (Gemma) was on maternity leave. I thought I'd get into the swing of being a lady that lunched before having my baby.
Rather than drive we caught the train from our local station in Market Raisen. It was only a short journey and there were plenty of times to choose from. We would both leave the car at home next time also as using the train is so handy.
What did you do on your trip?
We had a wonderful girlie day out. Lots of gossiping and browsing in the shops. Lincoln has some really quaint little gift shops where we stocked up on handmade cards, home bits and also some chocolates to indulge in on the train ride home.
Lincoln is such a pretty cathedral city but the cobbled streets and steep roads did prove to be quite tiring as I was 8 months pregnant. However we found a couple of lovely little cafes for cups of tea and even found a delicious ice cream shop. It wasn't really the weather for ice cream but that didn't stop us. I used the excuse of eating for two!
What did you like best about your trip?
It was a fun way for us to have a get together but also as we went during the week we managed to have a relaxing stroll around the city.
As we got the train we didn't need to spend time searching for a place to park.
Did you use any businesses in your trip?
Yes too many to mention. We used the train station, a couple of cafes and spent plenty of money buying baby clothes in the shops.
